Our mission is to assist UNT employees in gaining the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in a fast-paced, customer driven, student focused, University environment. We support the mission of UNT by providing a variety of training and educational activities, classes, and seminars for University faculty and staff, which assists our constituents in improving institutional effectiveness. The Training and Development staff focuses on working with department leaders to predict and develop strategies/approaches that continue to build a workforce capable of accomplishing UNT’s strategic goals.
The UNT Training Catalog provides a list and description of all the courses offered by the Human Resources Staff. Please note: All courses facilitated in Chilton 245 are videoconferenced and archived for later viewing. If your department has a specific training need, please contact your Human Resources consulting team. We can help by finding you a training resource or developing the training in-house.

The UNT Training Curriculum includes Certification Programs representing different training needs on campus. The first of these certification programs developed are the Supervisory Skills Certification and the Manager Skills Certification. These programs have a curriculum designed to provide a blueprint for a supervisory position. In order to recieve the certification, fill out the participation form below and send it to Human Resources. Once all the necessary trainings have been completed, the tracking form should be sent to Human Resources for verification and to receive a certificate of completion.

The Human Resources staff has compiled and archived the training videos for sessions facilitated via videoconference for the convenience of staff and faculty members. Please click the link below to log in and select the session(s) you would like to view.
You are eligible to receive credit for viewing archived training sessions. In order to receive credit for attending the session you will need to send an email to mara.butler@unt.edu and request a copy of the participant guide. Complete the pre-test prior to viewing the session and then the post-test after the session. You will recieve credit for attendance once you have sent in the pre/post test located at the back of the participant guide to Human Resources with your name and date attended.

All employees are encouraged to participate in training and development activities. Most classes or seminars are low-cost or free, and are available on a first-registered, first-trained basis. Class size is limited according to the capacity of the rooms in which they are held. Participants should register early in order to ensure a place. Employees wishing to attend a class or seminar should first obtain approval from their supervisor. For all sessions, a minimum of ten (10) registrants will be required to conduct the class. Sessions not meeting this minimum number of registrations will be canceled. Cancellation notices will be emailed to participants the day prior to the session. All employees attending training must park in parking spaces in accordance with their parking permits. While UNT staff, faculty and students are not eligible for visitor permits, visitor permits are allowed in any area designated on the visitor pass issued from the Parking Office, the Gateway Information Booth on North Texas Boulevard or the Information Booth on Avenue C. Parking permits are required for all parking spaces except metered spaces and the Parking Garage, where appropriate fees are paid. After hours, visitor passes may be obtained at the Sullivant Public Safety Center on Wilshire Street. Visitors are limited to two free permits per school year. Subsequent permits are sold in the Parking Office in the Sullivant Public Safety Center for $4.00 per day.
